Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDMEE (EDIE) ANNETTE GAGNE (nee PREFONTAINE) The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Edmee, mom, mom-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, Yvette (Bill) Kereluk, Lucille (Raynald) Rivard, Pierre, Raymond (Anita) and Miguel (Tracy), and her two sisters, Eveline Tessier and Louise Prefontaine. Edmee was predeceased by her husband, Leon in 1991 and her two great-grandchildren, Agnes and Lea Kereluk-Roy. Edmee was the heart of the Gagne family. She always supported her husband in his endeavours throughout his political and professional life. She always stood by her children, encouraging dreams, applauding accomplishments, and never interfered, even when she knew mistakes were being made. She loved her grandchildren and great-grand-children with unspeakable passion and her eyes would sparkle in their presence. She was without doubt one of the most patient individuals you could ever meet and throughout her years, she faced every challenge with courage and dignity. She humbly accepted the will of God at all stages of her life. We are so very proud of her and the lessons she taught us through her exemplary life. We shall cherish those memories and will miss her forever. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sam Migally, and the staff at St. Pierre Hospital. Special thanks also go out to the Homecare team at St. Pierre Manor. The funeral mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at St. Pierre Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the De Salaberry District Health Centre. Arrangements by Birchwood funeral chapel 1-204-346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030
